History of Appliance Installation Company, LLC (AIC) AK Appliance, Inc. was established in 1994.  In 2011, AK Appliance, Inc. was changed to AIC (Appliance Installation Company) LLC, due to the expansion of our knowledge of electronics, in addition to appliances. Between 1994 and 1997, we contracted with Circuit City to deliver and install major home appliances including, but not limited to, refrigerators, electric and gas ranges, dishwashers, air conditioners, hoods, cooktops, drop-in ranges, etc.  Unfortunately, Circuit City made a corporate decision to discontinue their appliance sales in Hawaii. In 1997, we began working with other appliance sales companies including:  Chock’s TV and Appliance, Disco Mart, Midtown Radio, Discount Mutual, and Admore Distributors, providing them with our installation and delivery services.  By expanding our customer base we were also able to expand our knowledge base.  We developed new knowledge and skills such as:  converting drop-in to free standing ranges, modifying cabinetry, and reconfiguring electrical work.  We also began to focus on high end appliances and built-ins such as:  SubZero, Wolf, Thermodore and Viking, displaying our craft and skill for the most meticulous of clientele. In 2002, we contracted with Servco Appliance.   Through our relationship with Servco Appliance, we continued to expand and hone our skills with high end merchandise.  We have extensive experience with built-in refrigerators, wall ovens, cooktops and the necessary customizations that are required with such installations.  We’ve continued to expand our knowledge base of different manufacturers, now adding other names such as Gaggenau, Bosch, etc. to our repertoire.  We also began to work on larger projects with developers such as:  Brookfield Homes, Castle and Cooke, Schuler Homes, Nordic PCL, Gentry Homes, Haseko (Ewa) Inc., and many others. In 2006, we contracted with Sears Roebuck and Company.  We currently provide delivery, installation and disposition services for Sears on the island of Oahu.  We have continued to challenge our technicians with additional knowledge and skills, and can now offer additional installation services for the consumer.  Our technicians and installers are not only capable of installing standard appliances and high end merchandise, but they are also capable of cutting granite, marble, tile and solid surfaces.  We also modify cabinets to fit all appliances. In 2010, we expanded our knowledge base to where we not only work with appliances, but we also install garage door openers, televisions, and home theater systems. We have been repairing appliances since 1986.  We repair all makes, models and brands.  In addition, we are excited to announce that we are currently in the process of getting our factory authorizations with Whirlpool/Maytag and GE to be able to add repairs to our arsenal of services.
